Who could be homosexual with his in a city?
Just think, 17 years ago, Dallas Cowboys versus San Francisco 49ers would easily be the game of the week.

Terence Newman and Orlando Scandrick are out. Bill Nagy is probably out and we have Derrick Dockery filling in. Miles Austin and Sean Lee are probable. And who knows about Dez Bryant: A statement that speaks volumes.

Five things:

Ted Ginn Jr.
The 49ers scored 33 points a week ago. There was one offensive touchdown scored (four David Akers field goals). The other two were Ted Ginn Jr. kick returns -- one kickoff and a punt. This is not a good offensive team as you can imagine with Alex Smith at the helm and zero talent at the skill positions. However, Ginn changes things. No, he's probably not returning a pair of kicks back for touchdowns (although, it shouldn't be ruled out). But he can flip the switch on field position and give that bad offense a short field. Or put Akers in field-goal position.

History
A year ago -- on Sept. 12 -- the Dallas Cowboys lost to the Washington Redskin in week 1 after a series of flukey plays in which Tashard Choice fumbled a half-ending screen pass and replacement tackle Alex Barron held Brian Orakpo on the potential game-winning touchdown. A week later -- Sept. 19 -- they faced what was perceived to be an ordinary Chicago Bears team. The Cowboys lost 27-20. Now, the Bears turned out better than what we thought, but the sentiment is the same. There's never a safe week in the NFL. It's happened before, it can happen again.

Tony Romo
Expect Romo to have a brilliant game. If not, if you thought the criticism was bad this week, be prepared for a media armageddon.

Jim Harbaugh
There wasn't a game in which Harbaugh didn't quit as an Indianapolis Colt. If he's half the coach that we thought he was at Stanford and that we think he might be in San Francisco, then those guys are going to play their butts off for the guy. That's scary. Also, it's a 1-0 team in the NFC West, where eight or seven wins gets you a playoff spot. The last thing you want to do is play a hungry team.

Vernon Davis
The 49ers have two playmakers. Davis is one of them. He's a big, playmaking tight end that can do damage downfield or in a possession role.

Prediction
Dallas Cowboys 30, San Francisco 49ers 17
I don't care what year it is, who you have around him or any other detail, if Alex Smith is this team's quarterback against a decent opponent, the 49ers will lose. Think the Cowboys have too much on offense and the 49ers will not have enough firepower to counteract what will happen. Romo, however, I am not confident about.
