A 230-pound tumor
It's over. Finally.

Lamar Odom and the Dallas Mavericks have parted ways. He's not released. He's simply just not on the team and will be inactive for the rest of the games. He could be traded before the draft. Any team that has his rights by June 29 will need to buy him out or pay him $8.2 million for 2012-13.

I'm speechless. Excited that the Mavericks finally gave in to the public sentiment that his presence was more harmful than his absence. Excited that the Mavericks' front office has a pair of testicles between them to cut bait. Needless to say, Jerry Jones would never do this.

Disappointed that this even took place to begin with. That drastic measures weren't already in place to nip this in the bud or for it never happen. It is one of the worst trades in the history of Dallas-Fort Worth professional sports.

It was a long time coming. However, I did notice the output and playing time for Odom the last two games, losses to Portland and Memphis on Saturday night.

11 minutes - 3 points -1 rebound - 1 assists - 2 turnovers
4 minutes - 0 points - 1 rebound - 0 assists

I'm sure Rick Carlisle has gone to Mark Cuban and Co. several times and pleaded with management to do something with Odom. He's known for a long time he can do nothing with a guy that doesn't want to try. Especially in lieu of guys like Brandan Wright and Ian Mahinmi, who put forth 100 times the effort.

Odom's line as a Dallas Maverick:

35 FG% - 25 3PT% - 59 FT% - 6.6 PPG - 4.2 RPG - 1.7 APG.

All of them are the worst of his career. I don't need to beat this dead horse any longer. Thankfully, it can be buried now. I'm so sick of everything -- the Mavericks, Odom, Cuban -- that Yu Darvish's start can't come any sooner.
