Overreacting to small sample sizes!A few housekeeping tidbits:
Cody Eppley was designated for assignment. He did not make it through waivers. The New York Yankees picked him up. Totally sucks.
Andrew Clark retired. He was taken in the 13th round of the 2010 draft and hit .295 with 36 walks and 37 strikeouts in short-season Spokane. Last season, he jumped from Low-A to High-A hitting .310 with 83 walks and 73 strikeouts, 28 doubles and 14 homers. He started 2012 at Myrtle Beach.
The Rangers released Mason Tobin, a rule 5 guy from last year, who made the big-league club and then got hurt.
Baseball America compiled the youngest players in each full-season league, minors and all. The Rangers had several players on the list. Robbie Ross is the eighth youngest in the Majors. Martin Perez is the second youngest in the Pacific Coast League. Jurickson Profar's the youngest in the Texas League and Leury Garcia's sixth youngest. Cody Buckel, Teodoro Martinez and Jake Skole are fourth-, eighth- and 10th-youngest in Carolina League. Round Rock Express
Leonys Martin is making it hard to keep him in Triple A. Hitting .375 with a .459 OBP. Three stolen bases, two doubles and a home run to go along with playing centerfield.
Neil Ramirez struck out six in his first start, going four innings. Allowed one run and walked one.
No doubt Michael Biannucci can hit. Four home runs already in this young season. The minute he learns a little discipline (11 strikeouts, one walk) he'll be valuable.
In his fifth professional season, Tyler Tufts has finally reached Triple A. He's pitched 4.2 innings of scoreless ball with no walks allowed.
Frisco RoughRiders
Justin Grimm: 2-0 - 0.77 ERA - 12 strikeouts - 3 walks.
Ryan Strausborger's made a leap from short-season Spokane to High-A Myrtle Beach to now Double A. Leading team with .429 average. Seems like he has a clue. A 24-year-old out of Indiana State.

Ryan Rodebaugh, Johan Yan and Trevor Hurley so far: 10.1 IP - 6 hits - 1 run - 0 BBs - 9 Ks.
Jurickson Profar hitting .100 in his first glimpse of Double A pitching. Still got more of a clue than most.
Michael Olt hitting .250, but has struck out 11 times already.
Myrtle Beach Pelicans
Joe Van Meter has struck out five in three innings.
Tomas Telis has registered four extra-base hits. Slugging an insane .722.
Wilmer Font is on the trek back from Tommy John. Could go better: 1 IP - 4 BBs - 4 ER.
Jake Skole, former first-round pick, has making up for his .200 average by working five walks to up his OBP to .400.
Hickory Crawdads
Fordham alum Nicholas Martinez has faced 12 batters and struck out nine.
