Professional football is incredibly lucky to have the Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens in the same division.
Those two teams are sell well run and are so closely matched that's it's impossible to slip a single piece of paper between the pair.
Case in point: The Steelers were 7-1 on the road and 5-3 at home. Baltimore was 5-3 on the road and 7-1 at home. They both have insanely good coaches, they play to win in the trenches, they run the ball, count on big plays in the passing game and they never, ever an easy out even when they're struggling.
Naturally they play week 1 at Baltimore.
Pittsburgh Steelers -- 13-3
Might be looking at a monster year from Ben Roethlisberger. He's married and everyone thinks he's a sweetheart, so the off-the-field distractions aren't there anymore. Did you know he threw a mere five interceptions in 389 attempts? They've got the stud running back (Rashard Mendenhall), the big play receiver (Mike Wallace), the sneaky-good free agent (Jerricho Cotchery) and that defense that never quits. Plus, Cincinnati and Cleveland twice a season.
Baltimore Ravens -- 11-5
I love the Ravens. However, their ability to get further into the playoffs depends entirely on Joe Flacco continuing to develop and become a big-time NFL quarterback. We're several seasons in and that guy has not shown up. To a point that he is what he is. Ray Rice could have a gigantic season behind Vonta Leach and an improved offensive line.
Cleveland Browns -- 7-9
I've seen them as a sleeper team in one other place. An extremely young team, a little too dumb and young to realize they stink. Could be a dark horse defense and Colt McCoy could turn into a little something. Somewhere in that schedule is seven wins, at least.
Cincinnati Bengals -- 2-14
Rookie quarterbacks. Their running back is going to jail. Receivers that can't get the ball. An awful defense. Yuck. I will be rooting for Andy Dalton. Otherwise, there is absolutely nothing to like about this team.
