Boomer? I hardly know 'er! Word is that Oklahoma and Oklahoma State will fill out the application to join the Pac 12 before the end of the month.
Basically, the two are tied together and both are just sick of the rigamarole surrounding the increasingly unstable Big XII. Think Baylor will threaten lawsuit again?
Oklahoma and Oklahoma State are top 20 football programs and would join Colorado who played their first Pac 12 games last week. It could force the conference to go ahead with the east-west divisions with Colorado, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and possibly the Arizona schools and Utah being in the "west."
Thoughts are Texas could follow. But Texas would need to cut the Longhorn Network, which they are willing to do and the Pac 12 is not willing to accept it as part of the deal. It'll happen, sooner or later.
Texas has zero leverage. As the flies begin to leave the pile of shit, we're seeing who the big problem was and that was Texas.
They're the cool kid that no one wants to hang around any longer. Soon, they'll need to humble themselves and learn to play with the rest of the kids on the playground. Oklahoma's departure speaks volumes as to who screwed this up.
