Axe 'em
Gigantically huge weekend. Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas and Iowa State all getting tests. UNT going to Alabama. SFA v. Baylor.

Party.

Oklahoma (1-0) vs. Florida State (2-0)
If you are a betting man, go ahead and take Oklahoma to cover.

Texas (1-0) vs. UCLA (1-1)
A year ago, UCLA went into Austin and beat the shit out of Texas, 34-12. UCLA wasn't good then and they ain't good now. This year, they go to Los Angeles and we have no real idea if Texas is any good. Barely beating BYU is not good. A Texas team with two new quarterbacks and a very questionable offense. If Texas' defense can keep the Bruins to less than 14 points, they have a shot. If this becomes a high-scoring game, the 'Horns are in trouble.

TCU (1-1) vs. Louisiana - Monroe (1-1)
The Horned Frogs are coming together. Fortunately, they have until Nov. 12 to get good. That's when they face Boise State, the only opponent of note on the schedule. Against Louisiana-Monroe, you should be able to get some reps in, make mistakes and seek to improve.

Oklahoma State (2-0) vs. Tulsa (1-1)
Give Tulsa credit: They have balls. Scheduling Oklahoma, Oklahoma State and Boise State in three of the first four games. Good luck with that.

Texas A&M (1-0) vs. Idaho (1-1)
Idaho has one of the top 10 or so mascots in college football: the Vandals. Another cakewalk for the Aggies.

Texas Tech (1-0) vs. New Mexico Lobos (0-2)
I don't know if Texas Tech regret or will ever regret letting Mike Leach get away. On the field, I think you can make a good argument that they do. However, I think Leach's biggest value was the press. We always talked about the Red Raiders every week. They were almost always in the top 25. Now, an afterthought.

SMU (1-1) vs. Northwestern State (1-1)
Fun fact: The Southland Conference's Northwestern State beat a school called "Delta State" 24-23. SMU needs to roll here.

Missouri (1-1) vs. Western Illinois (1-1)
Still can't believe Mizzou lost to Arizona State.

Baylor (1-0) vs. Stephen F. Austin State University (1-1)
For me, a fantastic game. Two high-speed offenses. No defense. The Southland Conference versus a lower-level Big XII team coming off a bye-week. Watch out Baylor Bears ...

Kansas State (1-0) vs. Kent State (0-2)
Kent State has averaged 138 yards per game.

Kansas (2-0) vs. Georgia Tech (2-0)
Huge test for Turner Gill's Jayhawks. Neither teams's played anyone. But the Yellowjackets have scored 16 touchdowns and averaged 629 yards per game. Jayhawks haved scored 12 offensive touchdowns and averaged 490 yards per game. Not feeling good for Kansas' chances on the road, but ... take the over.

Iowa State (2-0) vs. Connecticut (1-1)
The Cyclones coming off their huge overtime win over Iowa facing another quality opponent. Is there chance for letdown? Are we too high on the Cyclones? Are they truly capable of knocking off Iowa and Connecticut in consecutive weeks? Last game before entering into the Big XII gauntlet.

UNT (0-2) vs. Alabama (2-0)
Yikes.
