Oh oh oh Ogando
There are many emotions running through the hearts of Texas Rangers fans this morning.

One that is not: Doubt.

The Rangers pounded the Cleveland Indians, again, 7-4, sweeping the series and taking a 3.5 game lead in the American League West division.

Today, the story is Alexi Ogando. The young hurler has been all but exiled to the bullpen should playoff baseball return to north Texas. All basically due to the fact he's struggled so much as a starter in recent days.

Last night, he went six innings allowing no runs and two hits for his 13th win. Yes, Ogando will still join the bullpen if October baseball comes again, but he will not go quietly.

And, yes, he's pitched himself into the rotation again next season. Generally, I guess if you can win at least 13 games on two pitches, once of which you throw 75 to 80 percent of the time, then you're only going to get better with age, experience and another pitch.

What's been brilliant the last two weeks is that they haven't missed a beat offensively despite Nelson Cruz' injury, which they haven't had to rush him back from and they're getting very good pitching from guys not named "C.J."

The Rangers are 9-4 in September including four games allowing one run or less (two shutouts). Furthermore, Rangers starters are 9-3 with one no-decision in the month. They're pitching well (Wilson is 3-0 in September, Holland is 2-0) and deep. Hot.

Notes:
1. Michael Young with double No. 40 and RBI Nos. 99, 100 and 101. The best thing that ever happened to him were Ian Kinsler, Elvis Andrus, Adrian Beltre and the DH rule.

2. In 81 innings pitched with Mike Napoli as catcher, Ogando's allowed four home runs.

3. Mike Adams/Darren Oliver/Neftali Feliz: 3 IP - 8 hits - 4 runs.

4. Rangers are 22 games over .500. Also, first in the Majors in average, third in doubles, second in home runs and fifth in steals.

5. Oddly, they are 15th in ERA. Above them: Oakland, Washington, Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles Dodgers, California Angels and San Diego Padres.

6. None of those teams have five starters with at least 12 wins.

7. Josh Hamilton versus Cleveland this year: .359 with 16 RBI and five home runs.

8. Four-game win streak. With Seattle in for three.

9. Do you think the dorks in the Rangers clubhouse cream their jeans with skinny Jonah Hill in hte building?
