To call the MLB a bunch of idiots would be giving them the benefit of the doubt.Calling last night's game 2 of the ALCS because it rained all morning in Dallas-Fort Worth stinks of shenanigans.
The conspiracy theorist in me -- a very tiny lad -- opines that possible MLB didn't want to go up against Sunday Night Football and have their asses handed to them in the ratings.
That would make sense if the game -- re-scheduled for today -- were being played in primetime. Instead, it's stuck in the ugly afternoon bill, which is death. Which means no one cares about you.
I also thought how it might help the Detroit Tigers. It really doesn't unless MLB decided to alter the rest of the week. Instead, the Rangers and Tigers will play Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Justin Verlander is pitching game 4 nonetheless.
Certainly, MLB did neither team much good having four straight days should a starter falter and the bullpen is called upon. The deeper bullpen certainly has the leg up here.
Anyway, the fact that MLB called the game at 2 p.m. and there wasn't another drop of rain seems like there were ulterior motives. Had they called it at 6 p.m., that makes sense. But as the old adage goes, "If you don't like the weather in Texas, wait 10 minutes."

Magglio Ordonez broke his ankle. It could cost him his career. It'll certainly cost the Tigers one of their outfielders and middle-of-the-order bats.
Therefore, Delmon Young is coming back. Whether he plays is a game-time decision.

Of everyone, Ryan Raburn scares me shitless. Career .385 hitter with a 1.152 OPS against Rangers. Plus, he hits in front of Miggie Cabrera.

Max Scherzer is 3-0 career against Texas, which includes two no-decisions this year. His ERA sits at 3.41 with a .261 BAA against Texas. Lefties for the year have hit .281 off of him. This season at the Ballpark, he allowed five runs in five innings.
