Quietly, Derek Holland is pitching. Considering the energy spent on Yu Darvish, Neftali Feliz and Martin Perez the last four days, Holland could have thrown the ball 18 rows into the stands and barely gotten a mention in the game story.Holland put together a salty three innings in his second spring start. The Rangers won 6-1.
Holland: 3 IP - 3 hits - 1 run - 0 walks - 4 strikeouts.
For the spring, he's tossed five innings and allowed two runs and walked no one. He looks great. And I think the other questions surrounding the rotation is overshadowing the fact that so much is depending on Holland repeating his 2011. That's a big "if." He's had one good season and even then there were ups and downs along the way.
Bigger fish to fry, I guess.

The Good
Greg Reynolds has thrown four spotless spring innings. A big righty (6-7, 225). He's 26 and smart (went to Stanford). He's also a former first-round pick: No. 2 for the Colorado Rockies. He's had two swims in the bigs for the Rox and was rocked. We'll see.
Mike Kirkman with a spotless inning. Finally.
Luis Martinez, Darvish's supposed catcher, is hitting .667.
Two hits, including a double, for Mitch Moreland yesterday.
Back-up outfielder Yangervis Solarte hitting .364 with a homer.
Colby Lewis looks ready, already.
The Bad
Craig Gentry: Hitless.
If Miguel De Los Santos is making a claim for a big-league spot, he's doing it oddly.
Martin Perez and Neil Ramirez: Young and struggling.
Koji Uehara, for whatever reason, can't keep the ball in the yard.
