Predicting Major League Baseball.

San Francisco Giants -- 95-67
The pitching has been there for years. I think Angel Pagan and Melky Cabrera are substantial improvements to the line-up. Getting Fred Sanchez and Buster Posey back from the medic's tent is a plus.

Key guy: Melky Cabrera
Broke out, finally, with Kansas City last season. Honestly, the Giants haven't had a consistent bat in the line-up since this current incarnation came to fruition. Cabrera could be that guy and anchor a rather ho-hum, normal offense.

Arizona Diamondbacks -- 91-71
My first inkling was to have the Diamondbacks falling off a little. I thought 2011 was a aberration: Guys coming up big and minor gambles paying big dividends. Instead, they've barely lost anyone of importance and traded their No. 5 starter (whoever that was) for a salty No. 2 (Trevor Cahill) and improved their bullpen with Takashi Saito, Craig Breslow and Brad Ziegler.

Key guy: Daniel Hudson
I think Cahill will get a much-needed restart in Arizona. Hudson, however, might turn into this team's best pitcher.

Los Angeles Dodgers -- 84-77
Considering, it wasn't a totally awful year for the Dodgers. You'd think they were 60 games below .500 considering the talk. The obvious issues in the front office did not reflect the output on the field considering they had a mess in the bullpen (now settled with Kenley Jansen, Todd Coffeey, Javy Guerra) and were playing a bunch of kids and nobodies. The line-up is filled with a bunch of "dudes" (Juan Uribe, Mark Ellis, Jerry Hairston Jr., Juan Rivera ... guys that would be great on a contender). With that said, how can you be awful with a Cy Young and MVP candidate on the roster?

Key guy: Dee Gordon
Give me the youngster. Hit .304 after the call-up last year with 24 stolen bases. Will need to find a way to get on base and battle the sophomore slump. The Dodgers need a jump here.

Colorado Rockies -- 76-86
Anytime Jamie Moyer is impressing in Spring Training, you know standards are low. Gigantic holes in the rotation and bullpen should scare most off despite the offense. Not in love with this team in a very competitive and potentially great division.

Key guy: Jeremy Guthrie
Things weren't going to happen in Baltimore. Chances are, they probably won't happen in Colorado. It's worth a shot though.

San Diego Padres -- 68-94
The Pads are re-racking. Dumped several big names (Mat Latos, Heath Bell) in favor of some familiar guys (Huston Street, Orlando Hudson, Edinson Volquez, Carlos Quentin) in need of a change of scenery. A bunch of kids will got a shot, including, probably, two former Ranger farmhands Joe Wieland and Rob Erlin.

Key guy: Cameron Maybin
He can't save this team ... at least for now. The Pads should see his 2011 as a sign of better things to come.
