The Longhorns are so horribly stunted offensively, that they had to break out the "McCoy to Shipley" routine. Being Jaxon and Case in lieu of the professional Jordan and Colt. Do they have any brothers in junior high? Garrett Gilbert is awful. Longhorns need to bite the bullet, understand they're going to lose five or six games and start the McCoy 2.0 era.

J.J. McDermott was pretty ordinary in his first start replacing Kyle Padron. He threw an interception and completed a measly 59 percent of his passes. Still, they won. Despite three turnovers. The Mustangs allowed just 37 Miner rushing yard and tallied five sacks. Zach Line had 114 yards and two touchdowns.
TCU 35, Air Force 19
Casey Pachall looked very Andy Dalton-like: 20-25 - 206 yards - 2 touchdowns - 0 interceptions. Don't let the stats fool you, TCU was up 28-3 and then 35-9 before Air Force started putting up trash-time numbers.
Iowa State 44, Iowa 41
Wow. Iowa State hadn't beat the Hawkeyes in four years (oddly, the in-state "rivals" have played each other 59 times since ... 1894). The Cyclones' Steele Jantz threw for 271 yards and four touchdowns. He also helped convert 13 of 20 third-downs. Either the Cyclones have a better-than-average offense or the Hawkeyes have zero defense.
Houston 48, UNT 23
In college and high school ball, during homecoming, a team usually schedules a patsy so they can treat their fans and returning students to a victory. UNT -- to open its new football complex -- schedule Houston. And got whipped. By the way, how many years of eligibility does Case Keenum have? Eight? Nine? He has to be 36 years old by now.
Northern Iowa 34, SFA 23
Four turnovers will lose you 100 percent of all games.
Arizona State 37, Missouri 30
Missouri allowed 492 yards and forced just nine third downs for the Sun Devils. The teams combined for 23 penalties for 224 yards. Gary Pinkston needs to start coaching defense, maturity.
Kansas 45, Northern Illinois 42
Jayhawk football! Turner Gill! Things are happening! Running the ball (262 yards on the ground) and throwing the ball (Jordan Webb totals 282 yards and three touchdowns).
