Philadelphia Eagles -- 11-5

I think the Eagles are officially underrated. The media spent a month pumping them up so much that the kickback has dropped them further than the 10-6 team they were a year ago. By the same media. Is there a more un-self aware group than journalists. They're the worst. Fact is: The Eagles did get better. Fact is: They were 10-6 last year and won the division. Fact is: Even a so-so football team wins nine with their schedule. The Eagles get the Cowboys/Redskins/Giants six times (four wins, at least), the Dolphins, 49ers, Bills, Bears, Cardinals and Seahawks. We will need to live with the fact that the Eagles are good. And the Miami Heat did make it to the NBA Finals.
New York Giants -- 8-8

Will they be able to cover? No. Injuries have ripped the spine out of their secondary and that will be a problem to the tune of .500. Still, who's going to cover Ahmad Bradshaw, Eli Manning and Hakeem Nicks. Someone, also, needs to block those pass rushers. Everyone acts like the entire 53-man roster tore their ACLs. They didn't. They are not an easy out.
Dallas Cowboys -- 8-8

Improvement! What I'm saying is that the Cowboys will outscore eight other teams. The Cowboys defense is going to be awful. It's bad enough bringing in a new coach, it's worse that you weren't good a year ago, it compounds issues knowing you can't cover and adding injuries puts you at one of the worst in the league. However, we're going to get -- hopefully! -- 16 games from Tony Romo and Dez Bryant, which will make Miles Austin and Jason Witten better. Maybe Jason Garrett will even run the ball. Far too many holes to think they'll get nine wins or more.
Washington Redskins -- 5-11

Anyone projecting the Redskins to win nine or more games (and they are out there) are placing their faith in Mike Shanahan being a good coach. I do think he is a good coach. I also think that John Elway is a good quarterback and that Terrell Davis was a good running back. It boggles the mind to think that Rex Grossman (REX GROSSMAN!!!!!!!!!!!!) is going to lead a team with a so-so defense, no running game and limited playmakers on both sides to more than seven wins. I seriously don't see what people are thinking. It's REX GROSSMAN!!!!! Danger! Danger! Alert!
