Green Bay Packers -- 12-4
Forgot that the 2011 Super Bowl champs didn't even win their division. Finished a game behind the Chicago Bears. Now, it seems natural that the Packers would be the best considering they have, arguably, the best quarterback, one of the best defenses in the league. The gang's all back for another run. Not saying they'll repeat. There's little to indicate, however, that they won't be as good if not better. Plus, it's a sked that doesn't strike fear in me at all.

Minnesota Vikings -- 9-7
Brett Favre (or, moreso, his absence as a legit NFL quarterback) killed the Vikes a year ago. Donovan McNabb, I think, is still viable in that role. He was not-half-bad on a really bad Washington team a year ago when his best skill position teammate was a 400-year-old Santana Moss. His weapons, now, include Adrian Peterson, Percy Harvin, a formidable defense and a cadre of second- or third-tier pass catchers that you can't leave open (Michael Jenkins, Visanthe Shiancoe, Visanthe Shiancoe's penis). McNabb's job is going to be way easier and the Vikings will be way better with a quarterback that can get a wide-open receiver.

Chicago Bears -- 8-8
Question: Can castoffs from the Dallas Cowboys help a team? Let's face if, the Cowboys didn't want you, you are probably pretty useless. Or are you? Maybe Roy Williams, Marion Barber and Sam Hurd are guys just misused in Dallas. Maybe they have value. I wouldn't bet on it, however. Still, no matter how you slice it, if Roy Williams is the Bears' No. 3 receiver, that's somehow an improvement. As they say, it's not about your top-tier being better than the opponent, it's how much better your bottom tier is than the opponent. Good luck with your bottom. Seems like the Bears bungled their way to 11 wins a year ago. Can't see it happening again.

Detroit Lions -- 6-10
Not buying in. Prove it to me and then I'll take notice. Tired of the "the Lions are a sleeper!" talk. They might be. They might figure it out. That defense could prove to be pretty good. Matt Stafford could stay healthy. That running game might have some players. All "mights." The Lions have, I think, as much talent as any other 8-8 team, but there's this shadow that is perpetually hovering over them. It doesn't allow progress. It doesn't allow good feelings or actual positivity. It doesn't allow for growth. The Lions are the seed cast in the rocky soil.
