The old man still has it ... sometimes
Simply put: The Texas Rangers went to Fenway Park, a week after the Red Sox took three of four in Arlington, and whipped their ass.

The Rangers tallied 35 hits and 28 runs in taking two of three in Fenway despite a 12-7 loss Saturday and culminating in a 11-4 win today.

The magic number is 19.

Frankly, the Rangers did to the Red Sox what the Red Sox do to just about every team and what has plagued the Rangers for years and years.

Today, they forced John Lackey and the BoSox relievers to throw strikes and they didn't comply. They worked seven walks, four in that seven-run sixth inning. With ducks on the pond and nowhere to put the batter, the Red Sox pitchers had to throw strikes. The Rangers deposited those strikes just about in every spot in the Ballpark.

It's a season series win against the Red Sox and it marked the Rangers' 80th win of the season. Now, they are 19 games over .500.

Notes:

1. Dave Murphy's got a nine-game hit streak. Against Boston: 7-14 - 4 runs - 3 RBI.

2. Douche beard of no, I'd hate to think of the Texas Rangers without Mike Napoli. RBI Nos. 59 and 60. Home run No. 23.

3. Matt Harrison is 8-3 with Napoli behind the plate. Harrison himself as a 3.50 ERA and 11 wins. With Napoli behind the plate, 77 innings, he's allowed two home runs.

4. Ian Kinsler has 61 extra-base hits.

5. Elvis Andrus has seven walks and seven runs in his last four games.

6. Koji Uehara has allowed 11 hits and seven runs as a Ranger. He's also struck out 13 and walked one.
