Good times It was based on all sporting sports from the summer of 2010 and the summer of 2011 and is based on the number of teams, win-loss records, attendance and post-season play.
It's just a reminder of just how lucky we are to be sports fans in this area. We get insane high school sports. Huge college games thanks to JerryWorld, Texas-Oklahoma and a top-ranked program in TCU.
As for the pros, attendance is fantastic at all the major sporting events outside of Dallas Stars hockey. We had a championship with the Mavericks, a pennant with the Rangers and at least an OK record from the Stars.
We hosted the Super Bowl and even FC Dallas made it to the MLS Finals.
We are a spoiled bunch too. We expect more out of all of our teams now. Even the Cowboys -- the most underperforming bunch right now -- is always expected to win. A trip in the ALDS would have disappointed many Rangers fans. Nothing short of a top-seed and a long trip into the playoffs appeases the Mavericks fan.
Unfair, slightly cocky or simply putting true pressure on the local teams to perform well. Probably a mix of all three.
Now, if we can only get some journalists to cover this awesome sports city and we'll be set.
